On a rolling basis, the Mankato Area Foundation makes grants in response to applications received from non-profit organizations, schools and government agencies. The mission of the Consolidated Communications Community Fund is to support initiatives benefiting people and communities in the company's southern Minnesota service area, with a focus on K-12 education and critical community needs. Learn more

The mission of the Eide Bailly Fund is to be connected to the communities they serve and strengthen those communities with impactful giving in support of youth financial literacy; food insecurity; diversity, equity and inclusion; and community initiatives. Learn more

HOCKEY DAY MINNESOTA (HDM) 2022 GROW THE GAME FUND

Through the support of this community, the event’s generous sponsors and Maverick hockey fans, proceeds raised from the event will be awarded as grants to grow the game of hockey in the Greater Mankato Area. Learn more

The MRBA Building Our Future Grant Fund provides an opportunity for schools in a designated area to apply for funding to support education focused on trades and the construction industry. Learn more

DONOR ADVISED GRANTS

Many of our grants to area nonprofit organizations are made through Donor Advised Funds that are established by individuals, families or organizations who wish to give back to the causes they care about. Though the Foundation may make donors aware of worthy grant opportunities, Donor Advised Funds do not accept applications directly.

Giving for Good Catalog - 2025 

The Mankato Area Foundation is inviting local nonprofits to participate in the 2025 Giving for Good Catalog, a new community-focused opportunity to secure up to $5,000 in funding. This online catalog is intended to raise awareness – and dollars – for the most pressing needs facing local nonprofits.

How it works:

  • Submit a project request up to $5,000 focused on your most pressing need
  • MAF promotes the Giving for Good catalog to the broader community
  • Supporters give directly to projects that inspire them

Key dates:

Forms for nonprofits to complete opens: May 1, 2025
Deadline for nonprofits to submit completed form: May 30, 2025 
Community giving period: July 7 – August 8, 2025
Funds sent to nonprofits: Late summer, 2025

Eligibility:

Recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofits located in, or that primarily serve, Blue Earth and Nicollet County are eligible.

An email will be sent in early May to all nonprofits listed in our Nonprofit Directory. If your nonprofit isn’t listed or you need to update your Directory listing, please complete this form.
