MANKATO, MN (June 4, 2013)—The Mankato Area Foundation (MAF) announces grant recipients for the fall funding cycle. Over $134,000 in requests were received, $45,100 was awarded to local non-profit organizations to support local projects.

The Grantees are:

City Center Partnership – Traffic Signal Cabinet Mural Project, $2,500; Greater Mankato Diversity Council – SURGE Youth Leadership Program, $3,600; Mankato Area 77 Lancers – Funds to replace instruments, $6,000; Mankato Ballet Company – Collaboration with the Mankato Symphony Orchestra Nutcracker Performance, $3,500; MN Council of Churches – Tapestry Project, $5,000; Twin Rivers Council for the Arts – Emy Frentz Arts Guild gallery redesign and remodel, $7,000; Feeding Our Community Partners – BackPack Food Program Transportation Project, $5,000; Visit Mankato – Mankato Area Regional Recreational Facility Feasibility Study, $5,000.

Thin Film Technology Grants awarded through the Mankato Area Foundation: South Central College received funding for Student Scholarships - $5,000 (5 students will each receive $1,000 who are enrolled in the programs of Computer Integrated Machining, Computer Careers and Mechatronics) MSUM LabVolt Power Station - $2,500
