Scott Umhoefer

Scott Umhoefer was born in 1957 and grew up in North Mankato, Minnesota. A 1976 graduate of West High School, he went on to attend Mankato State University before working a company called Kayot building houseboats. He began his career in construction in 1988 with Gosewisch Construction. In 1998, he joined Robert W. Carlstrom Co., where he became president and co-owner in 2004—a role he continues to hold today.

Scott served as a volunteer firefighter for the City of North Mankato for 21 years, a commitment he found deeply rewarding. He and his wife Kim, high school sweethearts, have been married since 1979. Together, they enjoy spending time at their cabin on Swan Lake and recently settled into their dream home in the countryside. They have three adult children, six grandchildren.

A lifelong lover of the outdoors, Scott also enjoys woodworking and music in his free time.

Scott was appointed to the Mankato Area Foundation Board of Directors in 2025.
