Donor Advised Fund

Curt and Debbie Fisher

Launching a bold vision for outdoor adventure.

Thanks to a generous gift from retired Mankato developer Curt Fisher and his wife Debbie, a bold vision for a world-class mountain biking destination in Mankato is becoming a reality.

Their $50,000 donation to the project, made to the Mankato Area Mountain Bikers, through the Curt and Debbie Fisher Fund of the Mankato Area Foundation, was among the first major contributions toward the development of the Rockwell Mountain Bike Trails — a 16-mile trail system designed to be free and open to the public.

The Fishers' support helped kick off a broader fundraising campaign aimed at transforming a former quarry into a regional attraction for outdoor enthusiasts. In recognition of their generosity, a scenic water feature along the trail will be named “Fisher Family Falls.”

The Rockwell trails are part of a larger plan that includes an RV campground and water park, creating a unique multi-day destination for visitors. With the Fishers’ gift and other early contributions, the project is on its way toward its $3 million goal.

The Rockwell Mountain Bike Trails promise to enhance quality of life, boost tourism, and celebrate Mankato’s natural and historical heritage. The land for the trails is being provided through a permanent lease by quarry owner Joe Holtmeier, ensuring public access for generations to come.
