MAF earns national reaccreditation

The Mankato Area Foundation (MAF) has once again earned accreditation through the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations, reaffirming its commitment to accountability, transparency, and excellence in community philanthropy.

Accreditation through the National Standards program is a rigorous process that evaluates a foundation’s governance, financial management, grantmaking, and donor services against the highest standards in the field. Reaccreditation, which is voluntary, confirms that MAF continues to meet and uphold these benchmarks on an ongoing basis.

“Reaccreditation reflects the care and responsibility we bring to our work every day,” said Ashley Eimer, Vice President of MAF. “We are proud of the work our staff and board do to ensure we operate with integrity, transparency and strong stewardship.”

For donors, accreditation provides added assurance that charitable gifts are managed wisely and in full compliance with IRS regulations and recognized best practices.

“In a time when the nonprofit sector faces increased scrutiny, being accredited sends a message that MAF has strong safeguards in place to protect donor intent and maintain public trust,” Eimer said. “As we continue to grow, this commitment allows us to stay focused on strengthening our community.”
